They say the customer is always right and in Lily Robinson’s case she was! Last May, Lily a three and a half year old from Great Britain, noticed that Tiger bread, her favorite bread from grocery chain Sainsbury, actually looked more like Giraffe bread. With the help of her mother, Lily wrote a letter to Sainsburry suggesting that the splotches on the bloomer’s crustresemble more a giraffe’s pelt than that of a tiger. A customer manager from Sainsbury wrote back, agreeing with Lily, that the new brand name would be a great idea and sent her a gift card.
After receiving the note Lily’s mother posted the letter on her blog and started a Facebook campaign to change the name of the bread to Giraffe Bread. This week after overwhelming feedback, Sainsburry officially changed the name of their bread to Giraffe Bread all thanks to Lily’s idea and the power of social media.
Just goes to show how powerful our opinions could be with just a little backing!
